But clearly Lady Gaga is bored with being an outrageous woman and has decided to switch gender instead - again.
The controversial singer adopted the guise of her male alter-ego Jo Calderone - last seen on Vogue Japan's cover in August 2010 - for the cover of her new single You And I.
Smoking a cigarette and sporting sideburns and stubble, Gaga gave off a moody and scruffy look for the black and white shots.
The single, taken from her second studio album Born This Way, is due for release on August 23, but why she decided to dress as her male self is anyone's guess.
Gaga, 25, tweeted the single cover pictures along with the words: "You will never find what you are looking for in love, if you don't love yourself."
She also told fans, in her 991st tweet, that the music video for the song would be her 1000th tweet.
This is not the first time that Jo Calderone has made an appearance - last June she posed as him for a series of photos in London by renowned photographer Nick Knight and regular Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti.
