What do these patterns reveal?

Have you ever had a moment in time when you were amazed at how
connected things and people are? Sometimes it comes from finding
out that a current friend went to college with someone you both
know or your colleague in a foreign country is reading the very
same book you are at the time. As our world has shrunk and we are
able to communicate so quickly, we now can validate what many have
been saying throughout the ages; we are all connected.

When we are having a difficult time it is easy to forget that we
are connected. It isn't that our connection is ever broken, most
of the time it is because we have closed down our extensions of
connection and forgotten we are not alone.

Have you ever had a bad day lightened up by an interaction with a
stranger? Have you ever had difficulty understanding something and
then received an answer simply by observing nature or animals?

Try this when you are seeking an answer to a question.
Go for a walk in nature, or even just in your neighborhood.
As you walk, suspend thinking about either the question or the
answer and pay attention to your environment. Feel the temperature
of the air on your skin, notice the sound your feet make as you
walk, let your eyes move and see whatever they want to, smell the
air and touch the textures that you pass as you walk. As much as
possible, just be in the moment with the changing scenery as you
walk.

Notice any pattern you see along the way, the way the flowers are
growing, the way the dogs fight for a bone or the stillness of the
evening, as examples. When you come home ask yourself if you have
any answers to your question. Allow whatever is there to emerge.
On a deep gut level, you always know more than you think you do.

Ego -vs- Inner Voice...

Hi Thomas!

seasons? How do we, humans, know when it is time to move on? How
do we know when to go? As with the migrant birds, so surely with
us, there is a voice within, if only we would listen to it, that
tells us so certainly when to go forth into the unknown."
- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, M.D.

Trusting yourself is a major sign of surrendering to the Flow. As
in the above quote, the geese don't seem to argue over when it is
time to fly south, they just seem to know. The less victimized you
feel by your background, your work history, your relationship
history, your health, age or anything else, the easier it is for
you to hear that voice within. As you move higher up the Levels of
Awareness, you will find that voice gets louder in every stage. This
is partly due to the reduction of your drama and partly due to your
willingness to hear your own wisdom.

The next step after hearing your inner voice, is to trust what it
says and dare to act on it. That takes practice and you will find
you do a lot of that in the Learning and Experiencing Level of
Awareness. Don't be alarmed if you act on something that you
thought was your inner voice communicating and it proves to be
inaccurate or not in your best interest. Sometimes our egos want
to get into the game and will play tricks on us. How do you know
the difference? That will vary for each of you, but here are a few
tips. The more your inner voice is concerned with being right, the
more likely it is ego, not internal wisdom. If you waffle back and
forth a lot regarding taking action, that is still your ego trying
to be safe. In that case ask yourself, "If I knew I couldn't do it
wrong, what would I do?" That will give you an answer that is not
coming from fear or ego.

Begin to notice how you hear or sense your inner voice when it has
led you in the right direction. Pay special attention to the fact
that it is often not logical. Your inner voice has its own
non-linear way of knowing and communicating. It is your job to
discover your own patterns and trust that no matter what it looks
like on the surface, there are good reasons to honor your internal
wisdom. How many times have you noticed after something you feared
has happened, looking back on it, you realize it was the best
thing for you after all?

Confidence - to expand your consciousness...

Hi Thomas !

Solitude is a vital experience we require in order to grow and
expand our consciousness. Being by yourself in quiet with no other
distractions is one of the best ways to connect deeply with
yourself, nature and your inner voice. Some Personality Types tend
to have a resistance to that kind of experience because of their
Focus of Attention.

However, solitude is a recommended practice for everyone and the
more you don't want to do it, the more you will grow from the
experience.

Solitude is not about being closed down or putting up walls against
intrusion. The kind of solitude that will help you grow and deepen
is when you purposely choose to be by yourself in the silence. It
is not about escaping, it is about stepping into something inviting.

If this subject is making you uncomfortable, start practicing with
thirty minutes at a time and slowly build up to several hours. Once
you have increased to that level, it is recommended that you spend
an overnight by yourself. There are many retreat centers that offer
that kind of experience in groups, if that feels safer to you, or
you can go away by yourself.

However you orchestrate your solitude, don't take anything but a
journal to write in. No books to read, music to play or movies to
watch. Walking in nature is recommended. It is best to talk or
text others as little as possible. In this fast-paced world our
nervous systems can easily be overloaded and even though your
Personality Type might crave stimulus, your body and nervous system
crave quiet and solitude. Try it and see what pearls of wisdom and
benefits you gain.

2 ways to be rich...

How easy is it for you to really feel satisfied? Look around you
right now and notice your surroundings. Do you like what you see or
do you see what you don't like?

How do you feel about yourself right now? Can you truly appreciate
yourself today, still knowing there may be aspects you would like
to improve?

The higher you live on the Levels of Awareness, the more likely you
are to feel satisfied. That's true because the more aware and
capable of making good choices you are, the less you are caught in
struggle. The higher on the Levels of Awareness you live, the
richer you are likely to feel, not only in terms of finances, but
also in terms of personal satisfaction.

Being satisfied is an inside job. No amount of money or material
good can give you the inner feeling of satisfaction. We are not
taught to be satisfied. We are taught and trained by the media to
want more.

Today don't chase satisfaction. Sit still for a moment and let it
bubble up from inside you, like an underground stream.

Breathing life into your aspirations


Sadly, far too many folks are waiting aimlessly for their
so-called ship to come in and magically change their life
for the better. More often than not, they end up missing the
boat that could actually carry them to a brighter future
(the boat I'm talking about is the USS Action ;-)

Yet, because they are often so afraid of testing new waters
they spend an entire lifetime waiting on the shore.

Friend, if you identified a bit more than you wish you did
with the words described above, take heart, because in this
very moment you can make the conscious decision to start
getting the most out of your life's journey.

Notice I said you can make the decision -- yes, it is a
choice you have to make yourself -- and of course be willing
to take action, and truly commit to living more fully. That
said, if you are willing to make a plan, and follow through
on your plan to the point of completion, not just every now
and again, but even in those moments where you're inclined
to give up -- then I can tell you without a shadow of a
doubt that you're going to join the ranks of those who
experience a greater sense of accomplishment for having
achieved the goals you set for yourself.

Certainly there be will times where you may fall short of
your desired outcome, but so long as you're willing to
adjust as necessary and get back to your pursuit you will
eventually get to where you want to go. Right now, repeat to
yourself, "greatness is a part of who I am." Believe it,
it's true!

3 Keys to happiness and success that most people skip...

Hi Thomas!

We would never start out for a long drive without gas in the car or
leave our pets without food while we are gone for several days. And
yet I find many people who forget to eat or take food with them if
they are going to be gone for several hours. Both our cars and our
pets need nutrition and fuel everyday. So do our bodies.

Many cars require premium gas. It is easy to forget, but your body
also works better on premium fuel. By premium fuel I simply mean
whole grains, vegetables, fruit and lean meats. The energy and
vibration of your body will rise considerably by feeding it well.

Two other essential factors about the basics of human self-care are
exercise and rest. Just being reasonably active by moving your body
with walking, gardening or playing will increase your current
health and add to your longevity. Working out at the gym or
playing a sport is even better, if not overdone. Any movement
counts and adds to your health. Current studies show that even ten
minutes of walking is beneficial.

Rest and sleep are the third leg of the stool of balancing your
basic health. In this fast-paced society it is easy to keep going
by drinking caffeine when twenty minutes of rest is what your body
is craving.

When you are stressed or going through change you will fare far
better if you return to the basics of self care; good food,
adequate exercise, deep sleep and daily rest.

3 things you MUST know about change...

Have you noticed how upset we get because things change? As human
beings we act like life should always be predictable. And yet we
know it isn't. One of the reasons we get jarred by change is
because we are creatures of habit. Another is that we are emotional
human beings. As logical as we can be at times, it's the feelings
associated with change that we tend to overlook. And it is these
feelings that create the upsets and/or disorientation we sometimes
feel during change.

In addition, there are three other major factors that enter into
the way we deal with change. The first is Personality Filter, the
second is where we are on the Levels of Awareness and the third is
whether or not we have consciously chosen the change we are
experiencing.

How do you generally react to change? On the spectrum of actively
seeking change to actively avoiding it, where do you fall? How do
you manage your feelings about change, especially if the change is
not one you chose?

Today notice how much of life is in the process of change and be
grateful for the ever-unfolding life that it represents.

What's the real secret?

Hi Thomas

The ability and willingness to be teachable is an important aspect
of the higher Levels of Awareness. At the Victim and Struggle Level,
there is a lot of resistance to being told anything by anybody.
There is a tendency to respond with "I know that" or "I read that,
already!" Both of those statements are clues of defensiveness. In
addition, having read or heard a concept does not mean you are
actually practicing that action on a daily basis.

Being teachable means that you must start out with a "beginner
mind set" and a humble attitude. How easy is it for you to admit
that you don't know something? How often do you pretend or
exaggerate what you really know? Can you be humble without feeling
vulnerable?

We are all students of life. How often have you heard or read
something many times and finally one day you hear it in a new and
different way and finally it sinks in? We are never too old to
learn. Current longevity studies show that the more we are
committed to curiosity and learning, the longer we will live.

Today look at the world with beginner eyes and at the end of the
day spend a few moments reflecting on what you saw and what you
learned.

Do you struggle with _________ ?


Hi Thomas

One of the main reasons it is so valuable to become more aware is
so we can more fully live in the present moment. Even as you increase
your level of awareness it is amazing how easily you can still
"forget yourself". When you forget yourself because you are so
focused on somebody else, your work, the future, the past, or
whatever, you are no longer in the present moment. When you are no
longer in the present moment you are more likely to be neglectful
of your physical, mental or emotional needs.

Here are some examples of how many people 'forget themselves' and
the self neglect that results...

- Some people can have a needle-nose approach to tasks and
completely forget that they haven't eaten for the last six hours.

- Some can be so focused on others' needs that they forget to exercise.

- Some can be so caught up in the drama of a situation that
they forget to handle their own life.

- Some can get so caught up in doubt and worry that they have a
hard time sleeping at night.

- Some can be so lost in having a good time that they forget their
commitments to finishing mundane tasks.

- Some can be so involved in righting the wrongs of the world that
they neglect their own family relationships.

Of course, all of us can forget themselves in many ways. What's
important is that you figure out how you forget yourself and
then discover what to do to wake yourself up!

Who's whispering in your ear?

Many years ago I had a profound insight on taking advice from
others.

I stopped taking financial advice from people that were broke. I
stopped getting health tips from unhealthy people. I stopped taking
relationship advice from people with toxic or boring relationships
and I stopped looking for spiritual guidance from people that
couldn't demonstrate the manifestation of Universal Principles in
their life.

It sounds pretty simple doesn't it? But take a look at how often
you take advice from people who have not manifested what they are
advising. I follow the rule that "if they don't SHOW it, they
don't KNOW it" and I stay away from these people like they had the
plague.

Instead, I find people who have manifested what I desire and ask
them for help. Without exception they have been more than happy to
assist me. And the best part of the "advice" I am giving you right
now is that you can prove this to yourself!

What if you knew you were going to die?


Hi Thomas!

"In the last analysis, it is our conception of death which decides
our answers to all the questions that life puts to us."

How would your life be different if you didn't fear death? Oh you
don't fear death? Ok, but do you truly accept it? The U.S. culture
is not very good at accepting death. We really prefer to just not
even talk about it thank you.

Let's talk about it anyway. There are really only two views.

Life is only a physical experience and once you're dead that's it
so there's nothing to worry about. (Let's leave your loved
ones out of the picture for now and deal only with you)

OR

Life is a physical and spiritual experience and the spirit
continues on in some form after the body dies. You may take a
traditional heaven outlook on this or one of reincarnation or a
more pantheistic outlook. It doesn't matter - the point is you
believe that the life of spirit, soul, energy goes on.

I cleave to the first law of thermodynamics that says that energy
cannot be created nor destroyed and I view life as both a physical
and spiritual experience so I'm going with the belief that we go
on. How that looks I'm not exactly sure, but it doesn't really
matter. I find it comforting and interesting. I like to spin
possibilities. And if I'm wrong (I don't really think I'm wrong)
and I'm just totally dead when I die, I won't know the difference
anyway, so it doesn't matter.

No matter what you believe, there truly is no reason to fear the
inevitable. I'm sure you've all heard the adage that "if you are
afraid to die, you are afraid to live." Perhaps that even sounds
trite to you. But have you really thought about it? How differently
would you live if you truly were not afraid to die? Aren't all
fears in some way ultimately linked to a fear of death? Imagine the
increased freedom that you would enjoy if you accepted death as
part of a cycle, as a passage to a new form of existence, a new
frontier.

I'm always amused by the question, "What would you do if you knew
you were going to die?" Duh. Yes, I know that the question refers
to knowing the timing. But, timing aside, you do know you're going
to die so use that knowledge to really live in the meantime. How
annoying to get to the end and feel like you never dared to be
your true self, that you never lived loud and hearty, that you
played it safe only to end up dead anyway. I said before that I
thought "I can't" were the two most limiting words that we can say,
but maybe "someday" is right up there with them.

Bad habits can be broken...

Hi Thomas!

At this point in my emails, you are becoming aware of your typical
knee jerk reactions. Those automatic, habitual ways you have of
reacting to certain situations. For example, someone hurts you and
you clam up and withdraw from them or your friend is late to meet
you and you send her waves of seething resentment when she arrives
or your mate fails to do what he said he would do so you pepper him
with accusatory questions.

What is your predominant knee jerk reaction? What type of situation
sets it off? Can you feel it coming? Can you catch yourself before
you react? No matter how long you have had the pattern of reacting
the way you do, know that it is a habit and habits can be broken.
As we have said repeatedly, awareness is the first step. Choice is
the second step. Once you are aware of what you do, choose to do
something different.

Let's take the above examples and choose a different response.

1. Someone says something that hurts you, but instead of clamming up
and withdrawing, you let them know you are bothered by what they
said. Take responsibility for your reaction and don't blame
them. Instead of "You made me feel bad", choose "I felt bad when you
said I look like a stork when I dance."

2. Your friend is late for your meeting, but instead of sending eye
daggers, you tell her that being on time is a high value to you and
ask that if she is going to be late to please call you OR if
you know your friend is consistently late, be late too!

3. Your mate fails to stop for groceries on the way home, but
instead of questioning his memory and his commitment to you, ask if
there is a reason why he was unable to keep his promise. Ask if he
is still willing to go get the groceries. React with a smile instead
of an accusation and have fun watching his reaction!

In other words, be unpredictable! Be lighter and more playful.
Choose a different response. Just make sure the other person is
sitting down when you do!

We have talked often in this course about limiting beliefs and how
they hold us back. Much of what we have encouraged you to do is
examine and release those limiting beliefs, to silence the voice
that says "I can't."

It's the "I can't" voice that, over time, kills your ability and
even your desire to dream. Yet many of the marvels of our modern
world exist because someone had the audacity to dream, to simply not
accept that something could not be done.

Children have vivid imaginations and dream all sorts of fantastic
things for themselves. But in our journey to adulthood we adopt
false beliefs about ourselves and our abilities. We often end up
not only believing we are limited, but we try to convince others of
it as well. You have probably heard the expression, "Argue for your
limitations and they're yours."

Try not to use your Personality Filters as an excuse for behavior
or as an excuse for staying stuck. When you look at your personality
and the specific challenges that seem to come up repeatedly for you,
be honest, but only in an effort to get you to see and release what
blocks you. The focus of your evolution will then be always toward
a lighter sense of being, toward a bolder, bigger and more authentic
expression of the unlimited being that you are.

This is an abundant universe of infinite possibilities. If your
current circumstances make that difficult to believe, look past
them. Imagine a different life, a different world, a different you.
Dare to dream. Dream big and crazy and wild. No one has to hear.
It's just you imagining, so go ahead. Give it a try. You've got
absolutely nothing to lose and so much to gain.

How to harness your point of attraction (now)

Hi Thomas!

"When you can embrace all of life, not holding onto anything
beyond it's time and not avoiding it once its time has come, you
will know the meaning of Freedom." - Unknown

The dictionary defines Freedom as; "The quality or state of being
free; the absence of necessity, coercion or constraint in choice
or action; liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power
of another."

How would you define Freedom for yourself? It strikes me that much
of what the Secret of Deliberate Program teaches you is how to set
yourself free - free from your stories, free from your past, free
from "shoulds", free from need.

I talk repeatedly in the course about choice. You cannot control
the circumstances or people around you, but you can always choose
how you react to them. Much of what is difficult about difficult
situations, is not the situation itself, but how you react to it.
Have you ever made a situation worse by overreacting? What if you
had kept from getting knocked off balance by what was happening,
would that have changed anything?

The goal of Deliberate Creation is to be able to consciously set
your Point of Attraction. That means that how you feel is not
dependent upon external circumstances. It is not dependent upon
your mate doing the dishes or your child picking up his room or
your friend calling you or who wins the election. Your Point of
Attraction is determined solely by you, by what you believe, think,
expect and feel. No one and nothing else is ever to blame - ever.
No one makes you unhappy - you do that. No one can make you
happy - only you can do that. It's your choice - always.

When you can stay centered and balanced no matter what is going on
around you - when you can consciously choose instead of letting
circumstance dictate how you feel - then you have got ("groked"
for those of you who remember Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange
Land") how to consciously create your life.

I think the quote above sums it up quite eloquently. If we are
truly letting all of life in, without judgment, without labels,
embracing all of it, not clutching at what is no longer ours nor
pushing away what is, then we truly are free.

As you go about your day today see in what ways you can set
yourself free.

Is it worth it.

Hi Thomas

We both know that life is strange with its twists and turns. Quite often when we try to give our best, someone says or does something that may cause us to ask ourselves, is it worth it?

Well, I was recently confronted with a situation that forced me to ask myself that very question - And when I did so I wasn't surprised to find the answer within to be an overwhelming 'Yes'.

I was lucky enough to find my life purpose and passion over 43 years ago, which is to help people just like you improve their life. There is nothing more important to me than for you to win and experience great success. You see, in 1961 I met Ray Stanford who truly woke me up, my life changed like night and day. Over the next few years I experienced success that the average person wouldn't even dream of. In 1968 I decided I was going to spend the rest of my life helping others learn what my friend Ray Stanford taught me. I'll be 78 next July, and I'm still going strong because I love what I'm doing, and I intend to keep doing it.

That being said, I would like to fill you in on a recent situation that caused me to review this question in the first place and also make you a sincere promise.

As you know, Lanny Morton and I went into business and started Six Minutes to Success a little over 3 years ago. We had a great partnership together, and in my opinion we really helped a lot of people. Well, partnerships all have their faults and ours has been no exception. Your 'Core Concern' is running your life (what is it?)...

Hi Thomas

Depending on our Personality filters, we all have a Core Concern
that is at the basis of most of our fear, doubt and worry. We all
spend a lot of time and energy trying to avoid feeling our Core
Concern. Much of this is done unconsciously.

Becoming aware of your habitual Focus of Attention and Coping
Strategy helps shine a light on that Core Concern and the simple
act of awareness begins to loosen the hold the Core Concern has on
you.

I am trying to get you to be more aware of your Core Concern.
I am NOT telling you to get rid of it. Much of the non-productive
behavior that you engage in is due to trying to rid yourself of
that Core Concern, trying not feel it and especially trying not let
anyone see that you feel it.

What I am suggesting is that you accept it with no judgment. Just
a statement of what is and a release. This is very
powerful. Try it. "Oh, that's just my fear/anger/avarice/etc.
talking."

We spend so much energy trying NOT to feel, but the trick is to
just let the feeling in - acknowledge it, thank it for its
wisdom and let it move on. Like a thought passing through your
mind, a feeling passes through your body. It's alright, let it in,
let it out. Trying to repress or rid yourself of it only increases
its hold on you.

Anytime you accept "what is", you release resistance and then you
have much more energy available to you. Is there anything about
yourself that you don't accept? What if you just dropped all
resistance to it? What if you said, "this is what I am and that's
okay"? Wouldn't that feel good? No judgment, no guilt, no shame.
Those are very low vibration emotions and they never help or effect
change. They keep you stuck. In acceptance, there is healing and
movement.

Secret Survey shocker: 'Why Men Lie'

Dear Thomas,

(I usually don't send things that are JUST for women, but this video was so shocking I had to share it...)
If you're like most women you've probably been lied to by a man . . .

Actually, I can pretty much guarantee it.

The simple fact is, men lie to women all the time . . .

About little things . ..

About big things . . .

About things that don't seem to matter at all . . .

And a lot of women want to know WHY?

WHY can't he just tell me the truth?

My friend Michael Fiore (he's a nationally known relationship expert who's helped thousands of women understand men and who even appeared on Rachael Ray) says there's actually THREE reasons that men lie to women (and two of them are actually pretty innocent . . . here's the first one that tends to SHOCK a lot of women.)

Michael says that men lie to women because men are SCARED of women. N ot physically (not usually, though occasionally you hear about a woman going all "Bobbet" on her man.)

Nope, Michael says men are scared of women's EMOTIONS.

See, it might sound weird, but emotions are actually harder for guys to deal with and to recover from for guys than they are for women.

According to Dr. John Gottman at the University of Washington (right here in Seattle) women can both enter and recover from extreme emotional states a LOT faster and easier than guys can.

If you think about it, it makes sense.

We've all seen a woman burst into tears one moment only to be totally fine 5 minutes later.

But when it comes to emotions, guys are a lot more "fragile."

Gottman says it's because of evolution.

Guys were evolved to be single taskers.

To push everything out of their mind except the one thing they're hunting.

And because of that we're slower to get into an emotional state and MUCH slower to get back out of it once we get there.

I like to think of it like swimming.

Getting "emotional" for women is a lot like jumping off a dock into a lake.

You get wet, sure. But the dock is right there and just a few seconds later you're safe and dry. . .

But for guys, "getting emotional" is like getting dropped in the middle of the ocean . . .

Bobbing in the water.

Surrounded by sharks.

With land nowhere in site.

What does this have to do with LYING?

Everything.

From a very young ag e, guys learn that if we tell you the truth you could FREAK OUT on us. . .

FLOOD us them with scary emotions . . .

And push them out in the ocean where it'll take them hours to recover.
